Yes, the sun did look blue!
Susan, you will be missed.
I just had a mini holiday of 4 days and I was planning to go into work today. But I wake up to snow!
The news was just filled with images of accidents on the highways so I decided to stay home today.
I'm such a kid, I still get excited over snow day!!
Edit: Well, I ended up having to go to work after all. :(
These are the lyrics:
Awake! the while the active finger
Runs division with the singer.
I don't think I can sing this with a straight face anymore. :)
We have had a whole day of ice, freezing rain, and sleet. That's enough to get us excited around here.
But this afternoon it started snowing! Big fluffy flakes that blanket everything!
Yeah, I live in Texas. We get the ice maybe once or twice a year. But, we get snow once every few years!
I've been completely useless at work today. :)
I hope you are as stuffed as I am right now. ;)
I think appropriately it started with the wedding of my good friends Mike and Denise. They have been together for a long time and finally decided to get married. The wedding was simple and nice with a surprise appearance from one of my former crushes and his wife. It was actually really good to see him and I'm happy that they are about to have a baby. :)
Mike and Denise had a sit down dinner at the reception and I surprised myself by going around to different tables and talking with people I know. I guess I'm finally coming out of my shell when it comes to church functions. :)
One of the best parts of the wedding is that I bought myself a pretty new outfit to wear to the wedding. Now that I have a house I can't buy clothes like I used to. But, it is good to have an excuse like this! So, I got a new pair of shoes, a skirt, two tops and earings. I anticipate getting a lot of use out of this outfit. Hopefully I can get my computer issues with pictures solved so I can post a picture of dress. :)
More to come with my October activities!!
Every year there comes a time when I have to give up eating lunch in my car with my windows rolled down and the radio on. Unfortunately that time is now. We have started with our century mark temps and today's been the highest so far at 104 degrees.
Man, I can't wait until October/November!
I have this patron at the library who I've totally conected over shared tv shows and such. When I went to the Stargate convention in Vancouver I made sure I got her an autograph of one of her favorites, Beu Bridges.
Well, anyway on Tuesday she came in and the first thing she said to me was that it was my fault!! She then told me that in the fall she is going to go to an NCIS convention. She told me I inspired her! :)
My biggest achievment for the library has been to establish and lead a long running bookclub in my branch that has a loyal following. We are being used as a prototype for other buildings in our system who want to start their own bookclubs. :)
We read a book once a month and get together to discuss it. I am going to try to post my thoughts on the books as we read them.
